Frustrated with inaccurate WHOIS and registration data

I am trying to get accurate details on some domains I want to buy, but the standard WHOIS results are either redacted or completely empty. It is making it impossible to reach out to owners or even verify when a domain was actually registered. I heard that there is a newer protocol that provides better technical information, but I am not sure how to use it effectively. Has anyone found a better way to get detailed registration data in this era of privacy?

The old WHOIS system has definitely become less useful lately due to new privacy regulations across the globe. You should look into using an rdap lookup https://domainsavailable.now/rdap-lookup which is the modern standard designed to replace the aging protocols we used to rely on. It provides a more structured and machine-readable format that is often more reliable for technical analysis. I have found it to be much more consistent for my research needs. You should try switching to this protocol for your next search.
