Several months ago, my sweetheart, Holly, and I listened to an audiobook of "The Salt Path," by Raynor Winn. It's a memoir about her and her husband, Moth's, walk of the 630-mile South West Coast Path after they lost their home. It was a good 'listen' and a movie of it, starring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs, is due for release May 30, 2025. Holly and I got a small taste of the South West Coast Path during a visit to Cornwall last fall, so the book expanded nicely on our experience. Surely everyone's Cornish ancestors must have spent time walking it, too. I recommend the book and eagerly await the movie. I recently discovered CAHS through family history contacts in the US and Tom Rusch has kindly asked me to join CAHS as a 'friend' seeing that I hail from Penzance, Cornwall. I am delighted to be able to post on your fascinating website and find out about the Cornish Heritage communities and people in the US.

The reason for posting is because my mother, Muriel Laity has recently re-published on Amazon a book about the villages of Crowlas and Ludgvan in West Cornwall. This book may be of real interest to anyone that has family connections to Ludgvan Parish or is just interested in stories, yarns and the social history of this lovely Cornish village.

When visiting Goldsithney in September, my sweetheart (Holly Odgers) and I wandered into the town's community center when we heard music coming from inside. It was a rehearsal of Rock Choir Cornwall, under the direction of Marcus Alleyne. Alleyne lives in Cornwall and leads seven Rock Choirs in the area.

We were excited to learn they will be performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the invitation of Distinguished Concerts International New York. My understanding is that the concert will feature other Rock Choirs from the U.K. Below are relevant links:
