CAHS Board Meeting February 25,2025
Attendees: Tom Rusch, Johnny Trestrail, Chris Haines, Bob Wareham, Harry Curnow,
Carolyn Haines Absent: Dot Hosking
Bob Wareham let us know that we are gaining members with 3 in January and 6 in
February for a total of 272. We thought that was excellent information. He would like to
know how many hits the events get on Facebook and how to find out. There was a short
discussion on how to help folks learn more about the website and also how to find out
how many hits we get on the website.
Tom is working on the next newsletter and will include St. Piran’s Day, and updates on
events as well as Johnny will have some information to add.
Chris reported on social media and told the group there were 1000 views last month.
Harry is working with the language group which meets the 3 rd Sunday of each month.
The book club meets quarterly.
Mineral Point Cornish Group has approached us about a CAHS gathering. After some
discussion concerning the last time we tried to go there, we found out that their group
has changed their mind from precious decisions. The Board unanimously agreed to join
them for the 2026 Gathering, Chris, Bob and Tom offered to be on the Gathering
committee, and the rest of us said we would serve should they need more people.
The Travel Grant has several folks who have turned in travel plans and the deadline is
Friday, Feb 28. Tom, Harry and Chris said they would be judges for the Grant. It was
decided the papers would be judged anonymously.
