I have walked in the footsteps of my Cornish ancestors! Both the western leg of the Saints Way which runs between Padstow on the Atlantic Ocean side of Cornwall and Fowey on the English Channel side, and the lesser-known eastern portion which diverges just north of Helman Tor and travels through Tywardreath, and the section of the South West Coastal Path from Fowey to Plymouth, wind through many of my ancestral villages including Withiel, Lanivet, Lanlivery, Luxulyan, Tywardreath, and Looe. I also stayed and ate in places of historic significance to my ancestors and I bought lots of books to learn even more! I can’t wait to share this experience!
