Devonshire Hollow by Leora Buckingham Jackson tells of life in the Hollow in the mid 1800s to about 1900. It is located in Lafayette and Iowa counties in Wisconsin, just south of Mineral Point. Though the fictionalized story is not accurate in all events, the locations are accurate, and the book comes alive to one familiar with the area. Devonshire Hollow has been reprinted by Lafayette County Historical Society and is available for purchase from Lafayette County Historical Society, 525 Main St., Darlington, WI 53530.
